The road traveled to get to Legends Lane Reproductive Services has been a long and fun ride. It started 24 years ago when Dr. Rob Stout graduated from The Ohio State University and was searching for his new beginning. Rob and his wife, Sheri, moved from Columbus to Ashland, Ohio where Rob began working in a mixed practice. They were not there long when a large animal practice became for sale in Coshocton, Ohio. With their small family, Rob and Sheri took the risk to move to a new town full of new possibilities. From 1996-1999 Dr. Stout worked with his wife to operate a large animal practice called Farm Vet Services. After these few years in Coshocton the Stout’s saw an opportunity to open a mixed practice, large and small animal, to better serve the community.
Three Rivers Vet Hospital was a full service vet clinic working on animals of all sizes from 2000-2005. It was in this hospital that Dr. Stout found his passion for cattle embryo transfer work. Dr. Stout began practicing ET work in 2003. He quickly saw the opportunities that it would offer and made a decision that would positively impact his families’ lives forever. In 2005 Rob and Sheri made the decision to sell their practice and move their growing embryo transfer business to their home.
The mixed practice of Three Rivers Vet Hospital became Eastern Ohio Embryo and Herd Health Services. This practice focused solely on embryo transfer work and cattle herd work for local clients. As the years passed, Eastern Ohio Embryo began to grow at a faster pace than Rob and Sheri could have imagined. After ten years on their family farm, the Stout’s saw an opportunity arise with the selling of a property in Alexandria, Ohio. The Stout family drove past this property many times as they traveled back and forth from The Ohio State University with their two daughters. After many head turns, Rob decided to take a closer look at this property. With many visits and conversations, Rob and Sheri decided to invest in this new property for their growing business. In 2016, Legends Lane Reproductive Services was imagined and created.
